BAB 7 (Elbtunnel), exit Stellingen

How to get here

Private transport:

Coming from the south (Bremen or Hanover) or the north (Kiel), use Motorway/Interstate BAB 7 and take exit Hamburg-Stellingen. Following the signs to the Zoo, turn right onto the main road, take a left at the next traffic light, and drive straight through to the fourth light, where you will see the underground/subway station on the right and the Zoo on the left. Turn left, you will find the car park on the right-hand side.

Coming from the northeast (Lübeck) or east (Berlin) on Motorway/Interstate BAB 1 or 24 respectively, drive as far as the crossing "Hamburg-Ost" and continue on BAB 24 to Hamburg-Horn, the last exit on that Autobahn. Take the first right signposted "Wandsbek", and take a right again at the next traffic light, again signposted "Wandsbek". At the next traffic light take a left. Signs direct one towards the airport and "City Nord". Stay on the series of roads continually signposted from there as "Ring 2" across town until you to get to Lokstedter Weg, which crosses Tarpenbekstraße, the "Ring 2" street on which you should be driving. Take a right on to Lokstedter Weg and continue straight along a series of roads for about two miles until you reach Koppelstraße, which forks off from Julius-Vosseler-Straße. The Zoo entrance and car parks are a block down. To ease the drive, watch for signs marked "Hagenbecks Tierpark" once you get off "Ring 2".
