Facts & Sheets
To enter the Hagenbeck Tropic Aquarium is to immerse yourself in another world. Just a few steps into your journey, you’ll find yourself at the centre of a deserted village in Madagascar. Small parrots - brightly-coloured mountain lories - fly through the air, and primates with black-and-white tails – ring-tailed lemurs – clamber over tiled hut roofs, basking in the mild warmth. As these gregarious animals are (in contrast to many other lemur species) active during the day and enjoy spending time at ground level, it’s entirely possible that you’ll experience a close encounter or two.
