2007 Hagenbeck opened its latest attraction – the Tropical Aquarium! Although Hamburg’s coastal location has earned it the name of the “Gateway to the World”, the Tropical Aquarium is the Hanseatic city’s first – and currently only - major aquarium. And this new “tropical discovery aquarium” is really something special. 

See over 14,300 exotic animals! Observe over 300 different species in their natural habitats – on land, in water and underground. The deepest tropical oceans, tropical and sub-tropical jungles, and mysterious caves and grottoes will transport you into a world of biodiversity. This 8,000-square-metre facility will take you on a 3-storey expedition…
